A village on the Bosphorus

Where the house stands, how to reach it, and what to do once you are here.

The neighbourhood

Yeniköy, on the European shore.

Yeniköy sits on the European side of the Bosphorus in the Sarıyer district, between İstinye and Tarabya. It is known for its wooden waterfront mansions, the yalıs, many of them nineteenth-century summer residences of Ottoman statesmen and foreign legations, including the historic summer residence of the Austrian embassy and the Sait Halim Pasha Yalı.

Life here moves at the pace of a village: a ferry pier, plane trees along the shore road, bakeries in the morning, fish restaurants and cafés on the water in the evening. Eva Bosphora stands directly on this shore, with its own garden and dock.
